 Quick and Quiet D Major Scale


I made a quick video of a one octave D Major Scale right before a mariachi quinceañera gig (can you tell?). I was at the state capitol, so played quietly to prevent echos. If you've played there, you know!  

Scales are like all the colors of a painter's palette. For now, remember that the first note, or the tonic, of this scale is a D natural. Scales follow a specific pattern. For the next little while, we'll focus on Major Scales. Therefore, the scale follows the pattern: 

 Whole - Whole - Half - Whole - Whole - Whole - Half

     D - E - F# - G - A - B - C# - D
